Martin Buber's I-Thou Philosophy, Educational Approach and Metaphors about Education
Martin Buber tried to apply the "I and Thou" philosophy to all areas of human existence. He has developed an educational philosophy related to the subject matter. While revealing his own educational philosophy, he criticized both teacher-centered (classical education conception) and student-centered education (student-centered). His educational philosophy is basically based on the "I and Thou" relationship type. He used some metaphors while revealing his understanding of education. This research aims to reveal the types of relationships in Buber's Dialogue Philosophy, to determine the important points in terms of educational philosophy and his understanding of education and metaphors about education. This study will also reveal the solutions that Buber has produced about the meaning, nature and method of education from a perspective of "I and Thou" philosophy’s viewpoint.
