On the Role and Importance of the Threefold Synthesis in Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason
The three-fold synthesis discussed by Kant in the A-edition of the Critique of Pure Reason has an important place in revealing the objective content of experience and knowledge. He gives a new form to the transcendental deduction in the B-edition and does not include the threefold synthesis here. Even so, his results in the A-edition continue to be influential within Transcendental Philosophy. Because the three-fold synthesis makes the foundations of experience clear, and from this perspective, moving away from the results obtained here would mean redefining experience and knowledge. In this study, it will be discussed how Kant shaped and positioned it in order to ground the objective content of experience and knowledge.
