Dialectic as an Attitude in Adorno

Abstract
In this paper, we tried to understand Adorno’s negative dialectic in relation to Kant and Hegel. To do so, we have compared subject-object relation and the conception of experience in Adorno with Kant’s and Hegel’s idea of subject and experience. Apart from that, we have also strove to illuminate the historical context of Adorno’s negative dialectic in relation to Hegel’s phenomenology. As a result, Adorno’s dialectic, in a historical context, is not a system and method but an opponent attitude against the totalitarian ideology of modernism. Finally, it is possible to see Adornien philosophy very close to Kant much more than Hegel.
