Abstract

Philosophy questions the existence, knowledge, and values of existing things, offering us opportunities to examine, analyze, and evaluate many concepts. Updates are being made to teaching programs in order to instill this aspect of philosophy in new generations. The ‘K12 Skills Framework Turkey Holictic Model’ was announced in 2023, and in 2024, teaching programs were renewed in accordance with the ‘Turkey Century Education Model,’ which is consistent with this model. Within this program, the philosophy course curriculum has also been updated, with the addition of a unit on ‘technology and life’ at the 11th grade level. The fact that the concept of technology is a topic/problem related to daily life will attract the interest of students today and contribute to their philosophical discussion, argumentation, inference, and interpretation skills. This study examines the relationship between philosophy and technology as taught in the 11th grade philosophy curriculum through the unit ‘technology and life.’ The unit has been examined in terms of its field skills, conceptual skills, social-emotional skills, literacy skills, interdisciplinary relations, dispositions, values, key concepts, and finally learning outcomes with respect to the subject/problem/concepts.
