The Abductive Reasoning as a Thinking Form in Daily Life
When it comes to reasoning, syllogism comes to mind as a deductive process. In other words, throughout centuries, reasoning has been associated with the syllogism process. Of course, there are other types of reasoning, such as induction, analogy, and abduction, except deduction. Of these, abductive reasoning is considered as a reasoning process that gives the best explanation and argument that supports a hypothesis, unlike the others. Therefore, it is a method that can be used in many areas of daily life; for example, in the formation of scientific theory, in giving legal results, in diagnosing medical and also in recognizing the person from the actions or speeches of the person in psychology, in the establishment of the computer programs that form the scientific hypothesis and diagnosis, etc. Despite all this, this reasoning is not focused on logic as reasoning. For this reason, the main purpose of this study is to reveal the importance and usage of this reasoning in daily life and to show that logic is not only theoretical but also practical in life.
