Abstract
Locke’un Doğa Yasası Üzerine Denemeler adlı eseri yazma amacı tamamıyla ahlaki alana yöneliktir. İnsanın yaşamakla yükümlü olduğu bir ahlaki hayatın varlığını temellendirmeyi hedeflemektedir. Aynı şekilde Locke’un “doğa yasası”yla ilgilenmesi, doğa yasasının, ahlaki hayatın varlığının ispatlanmasında kullanılabilecek uygun bir araç olarak görülmesinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu eserinde temel meseleleri ele alan Locke “Bize verilmiş bir ahlaki kural ya da doğa yasası gerçekten var mıdır?”, “Buna uymak zorunda mıyız?”, “Bu yasanın kaynağı nedir?” gibi sorulara cevap aramıştır. Bu makaledeki amacımız onun, epistemolojisinin ve siyasi görüşlerinin gölgesinde kalan ahlaka dair görüşlerinin dayandığı temelleri ve kaynakları ortaya koymaktır.

Abstract
Locke’s aim of writing his work, Essays on the Law of Nature, is solely related to understanding the moral sphere. It aspires to justify the existence of moral life, within which one is obliged to inhabit. Likewise, Locke's attention to “the law of nature” stems from the fact that the law of nature is considered as an appropriate means for testifying the existence of moral life. In the aforementioned work, Locke investigated the answers to questions like “Is there a moral rule or law of nature given to us?”, “Do we have to obey it?”, “What is the source of this law?”. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the foundations and sources of his moral views, which are overshadowed by his epistemology and political perspectives.
