Abstract
Dil ve düşünce, fiili gerçekliği pek çok farklı şekilde resmedebilme yeteneğinin yanı sıra, hiçbir suretle fiili olmayanı inşa edebilme gücüne de sahiptir. Bu güç, aynı zamanda, felsefenin metafizik sorunlar yumağı haline gelmesinin temel sebeplerinden biri olarak eleştirilmiştir. Ağırlıklı olarak 20.yy.’ın başından itibaren filozofları dilin ıslahıyla ilgili çalışmalara sevk eden temel saiklerden biri, metafiziği kapı dışında bırakarak, bilimin yaptığı gibi, fiili gerçekliğe sıkı sıkıya bağlı bir felsefi anlayış geliştirme çabasıdır. Ne var ki, dil ve düşünce yalnızca fiilen varolanla sınırlandırılmaya çalışıldığında felsefe yapabilmenin imkânı da o ölçüde güçleşir. Nitekim metafiziksiz bir felsefe inşa etme girişimleri de başarılı olamamıştır. Mantıksal ve matematiksel gelişmelere paralel olarak dönüşen ve sınırları klasik metafizikten daha geniş bir metafiziği içerecek felsefi yaklaşımlar gelişmiştir. Bu çalışmanın teması, söz konusu bu yaklaşımlardan biri olan “imkânsız dünyalar” tasavvurudur.

Abstract
Language and thought have the ability to illustrate facts in various ways, as well as the power to construct what is by no means actual. This power has also been criticized as one of the main reasons for turning philosophy into metaphysical tangles. The basic motivations of the philosophers to reclaim the language since the beginning of the 20th century is to develop a philosophy that is closely linked to the factuality, as science does, by leaving metaphysics outside the door. However, the more the language and thought have been limited by reality the more the possibility of making philosophy gets harder. Indeed, attempts to develop a philosophy without metaphysics have been failed. In parallel with logical and mathematical developments, new philosophical approaches have been developed whose borders of metaphysics are broader than the former. This study focuses on one of these approaches which is the concept of “impossible worlds”.
