Abstract
Materialism-Spiritualism Discussion in Hüseyin Sadeddin Arel's Story Called Submarine Philosophy
An expressive narrative is a method of expression that is used not only to convey and emotions, thoughts, events, or situations in a lively and fun way, but also to embody abstract topics that are difficult to read end understand with their philosophical depth, multilayered learning structure. For this reason, discerning narrative used in many disciplines such as religion, psychology, sociology, history, philosophy and literature also finds play in philosophical stories, one of the genres where philosophy meets literature. One of our writers who wrote his philosophical thoughts in a story format is Hüseyin Sadeddin Arel. In his story which name is Denizaltında Felsefe, Arel interested in the subject such as existence, universe and truth. In this study, it was tried to identify the elements that brought the story of Hüseyin Sadeddin Arel to Denizlatında Felsefe. While expressing the philosophical discussion that the author placed at the center of the story, he was shown how he benefited from the opportunities provided by the narrative. While making the analysis, it was concluded that the metaphysical and mystical issues which cannot be explained in the abstract language of philosophy are a tradition in the Eastern civilization and that this tradition continues with the story written by Hüseyin Sadeddin Arel.
