Abstract
Ploninus’ Theory of Politics
Neoplatonism is a philosophical movement that was born in Rome, where Stoic philosophical thought was dominant. Plotinus, the founding philosopher of the Neoplatonic philosophical movement, profoundly influenced both the Christian and Islamic worlds with his emanation theory. The Plotinus, who explained the creation within the framework of The One, The Intellect-Principle and The Soul (Nefs) hypostasis and based the perceptible cosmos on this creation, wrote mainly about the Metaphysics. While Plotinus put forth in-depth philosophical theories in Plato’s footsteps in the field of metaphysics, it is noteworthy that he did not follow Plato regarding the ideal state design and did not produce a profound work or works in this field. In this sense, Plotinus, who spent a significant portion of his life in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire, is open to discussion on what his thoughts on political philosophy are, how his perspective is and whether he produces a theory. This article addresses Plotinus' general view of political philosophy within the framework of the Enneads.
